This is a one day LANTRA course for any person who uses, or will be using, an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV). This basic course must be completed satisfactorily before attending other courses in the series.

The aims and objectives of the course is to ensure that all candidates comply with safety and legal requirements, with an emphasis on safe practices, warning signs and guards. Personal protective clothing. Pre-riding checks for faulty or dangerous components. Preparing the ATV for work, including checks. Describle the construction and working principles of the machine. To start up and drive safely in a range of different ground conditions.



  • Preventing accidents / Instruments and controls
  • Basic safe driving / Practical exercise
  • Possible other problems

This LANTRA certificate is achieved through integrated training and continual assessment by a LANTRA approved instructor/assessor. The course includes operator assessment and certificates will be awarded to those reaching the required standard.

You will also need to bring with you two pasport sized photographs for the LANTRA identity card.

This is a one day course that can be delivered at our own purpose built site or within your own workplace subject to suitable training equipment and facilities.
